Manchester Mental Health Promotion Strategy

The Manchester Strategy runs from 2004 to 2010. It is developed in response to the National Service Framework for Mental Health, Standard One, jointly with the Manchester Mental Health Joint Commissioning Team.

Promoting the Physical Health of People with Mental Health Problems


People with mental health problems often have poor physical health. This service is developing a programme of work, in alliance with a number of other services, to address this problem.

The Manchester Supporting Health Programme
Manchester Supporting Health Programme is a new partnership between Manchester Public Health Development Service and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust to improve the physical health of people with severe mental health problems. It is one of Manchester’s Choosing Health initiatives. This is a report on progress in developing the Programme in the first four months.
