Some exciting new services have been established across the city offering the people of Manchester free access to supported ‘Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’.
Beating the Blues is an easy to use computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (CCBT) self help programme which has been shown to be effective for mild/moderate depression and anxiety. The programme takes 8 weekly (50 minute) sessions to complete. Individuals learn how to cope with depression and anxiety by learning practical skills to help them feel better and stay better. Each session is supported by a facilitator and support worker available for people who have any difficulties or problems using the programme. The service is for people aged 16 and over (no upper age limit).
