What does ‘improving health at work’ mean to you?
If it means a lot, but you’re finding it hard to do – we can help you.
If your answer is ‘nothing’ or ‘very little’ or ‘what’s that?’ – then we can help you even more.
Health at work covers all aspects of the relationship between work and health. It can involve:
- health and safety, occupational health, prevention of ill health and accidents
- health promotion in the workplace, including specific policies and procedures to improve the health of your employees or colleagues – for example, in relation to alcohol, smoking, HIV/AIDs or stress
- ‘family friendly’ policies, such as flexible working hours, carer’s or special leave arrangements, career breaks, job sharing – to assist staff with juggling the work/life balance
We can assist workplaces in developing health at work strategies, through a variety of means:
- Helping you to assess the health needs of your workforce
- Advice on suitable policies, programmes and activities
- Direct provision of specific services such as smoking cessation
- Training on a wide variety of health topics and skills, and how to implement health policies and procedures
- Resources and materials
