David is the Walk Leader for the MPHDS. He oversees several walks across the Manchester area. The main target group is the over fifties but it is open to younger people with health difficulties or if they feel that they would like to get more exercise.

The walks are well attended, with three regular groups meeting every week. There are two groups who meet on Monday at 2pm at Chorlton Water Park at the end of Maitland Ave in Barlow Moor. There is also another walk that goes from the main car park in Wythenshawe Park every Tuesday at 2pm and walk for 1 hour around the Park on various routes. At the end of the walk most of the participants meet in a container classroom in the park, for a well earned cuppa and a biscuit.

The walks are a sociable event with a friendly feel. Several participants have reported that their health has improved because of walking regularly with the group. For further information about the walks please contact David directly. Click here if you require further information on the Walking Your Way To Health initiative.
